If not for a snag in the tire supply chain in the formative years of mountain bikes, the 650b (27.5 inch) wheel size might well have taken the place of the standard 26 inch wheel. Smack dab between the standard 26 inch wheel and the monster truck high-rolling 29 inch wheel, the 27.5 inch wheel offers a good mix of big wheel rolling capability and small wheel gearing, suspension clearance, and geometry.

El Bastardo gets 5.5 inches of rear travel, a low bottom-bracket, no compromise all mountain geometry, and Ventana’s legendary lateral stiffness and manufacturing excellence to make it a formidable trail bike. This Bastard’s big wheels, long travel, superb gearing and dialed geometry will leave you grinning and your friends in your wake when you hit the rough.
